South Lake Tahoe 2005
Over the June 24th weekend 2005, all my family, hubby & I went on a long
planned trip to South Lake Tahoe, for the first of our official
family reunions...it is kind of hard to do that for us here, since most
of our family is still in Iran, but this unit that we have here together
has grown by six people in the past 27 years...so my sister the one who
takes care of us all, well some would say likes to be in control, but I
love her so much, I thank the universe that one us keeps tabs on us
all...well anyway she made the suggestion at Christmas, (yes we
celebrate Christmas as more of my family is Christian than not) that we
should all get together once a year for a big family trip...and so it
went...South Lake Tahoe was chosen, my sister made all the arrangement,
collected all the needed funds from us & made all the plans for the
actual day of the trip...we had a very nice time there at this huge
house that my sister found to rent for the weekend, we all had our own
rooms, a hot tub hubby & I got great use out of & gorgeous views of the
water...we relaxed, we ate great food we all made together, we
laughed so hard watching silly movies, one of my old favorites Planes
Trains & Automobiles, most of us went for rides on my brother's Wave
Runner (are you kidding I did not go, the water was cold, do you see all
that snow on the mountains...?) and most of all we connected more with one another
than we had in years...so a new
great tradition has started in my family...I also learned that having 3 kids
together can be just as much fun as it can be a challenging
experience...at the end we made plans for next year...Oh yeah just to
be different, the earthquakes that always happen around where we live
followed us to 7600 ft elevation & we had a rather scary big shake on
Sunday morning 8 miles east of where we were...the whole place shook,
hubby was the only one that did not feel it, at the time he was on the
Wave Runner on the water...below are some
photos of the trip, at one point my camera ran out of juice so I only
got these shots...
