This is the front of our old place, we lived
on the
left side after you go up the stairs, 5 years ago hubby
pulled the bougainvillea across the stairway & it grew in
to this gorgeous threshold, this & many other little things
I will miss about our old place, our first place together... |
|

Master bedroom Before |
|

Master bedroom so far with primer on the walls,
hubby
Pulled the carpet up already on Thursday 6/2/05, this
room is almost ready to paint... |
|

Master bedroom with new paint on ceiling &
walls, its a
sun porch yellow that looks really warm at different
lights...Next comes the carpet... |
|

Second bedroom before |
|

Second bedroom after primer, the carpets are
now
pulled off in this room...ready for paint, this will be
the new office, Creamy White & a bit of Khaki Sage
here & there, I feel like I am making bead sets with
with my pain choices... |
|

Living room before, the carpet is now gone &
part of one
wall is also primed... |
|

The other side of the Living room, carpets are
gone, new
floors will come in soon...oh yeah paint too... |
|

Another view of the Living room looking in to
the kitchen
dinning area, still no floors or paint... |
|

I painted one of the walls in the living room
an oh my gosh
orange to hubby's surprise & delight...after all orange is his
very favorite color in the world...it is a burnt orange first
coat was real bright, the last one I will have photos of
later...it is very yummy, just look below to see how it looks
with the new floors...the old floors had to go...!!! |
|

yummy like I said...the living room is now
finished, all we have to do next is move in, paint the
bathrooms, tile the bathrooms, paint the kitchen, get a washer
dryer, oh yeah set up Jelveh Designs...oh my the list never
ends...but it is so much fun... |
|
 |
|
At last a finished living room, all the
furniture you see, save for the chair with its back to you, we
had in our old place, don't ask me how we fit everything there,
what is missing in this photo is a full picture of our sideboard
made in 1895, you can see one leg of it to the far right of this
photo...Hubby aka hunk is watching TV... |
|

Here is a wide shot of this side of the living
room... |
|

and here is the other side of the living room,
the Tall Boy that the TV is on is from the 1930s, also a piece
we had before...now the chair is new, hubby got it at the good
will, so its not new, its from the 50s or 60s but it is new to
us...the Persian, an expensive wedding gift from my parents
completes the look, the next photo I have from this area will be
in a few months, when I have put glass mosaic all over the
fireplace bricks...as we do not like that brick... |
|

All of the closets had to be really cleaned,
all carpet
removed all old shelving removed & painted & ready for
new floors |
|

All of the closets now look like this...the
upstairs have
carpet already in them too... |
|

The cozy front yard has an orange tree & lemon
tree, I
think we have to brace them so they stop going in that
direction, also need to clean up around them, & perhaps
if I get the chance plant some flowers...it will be a great
place for table & chairs to relax & soak in some sun... |
|

Kitchen before, so far nothing has been done
to the kitchen... |
|

The dining room part of the eat in kitchen, I
started to pull off the wall paper only to find I needed to
texture the walls before painting them...is $500.00 too much to
pay for texturing walls?...why do contractors are not so good to
deal with when you are a girl...? should I do it myself? but
then who would make beads?... |
|

Like most other things in our new house, the
shower pan & shower door in the master bath were in bad shape,
bad enough to come up on the inspection report as needing to be
changed, so here is our handy man John, the nicest of our
contractors so far, putting in the new shower pan...there were
photos of the gross old pan but I choose to not show them here,
I mean there has to be some limits to sharing right...? |
|

After he put the pan in he has to secure it
the wood under it, then cover it, so he can make a mess putting
up mortar & then the tiles...thank goodness we have a working
shower & bath in the hallway...no one told me home ownership was
going to be this much of an adventure...we are loving it... |
|

new glass case, well this is the part that is
organized, you have to wait & see the rest another time... |
|

Yes I painted the wall in the studio...in some
fun designs, like a mosaic... |
|

Here is a photo from the middle of the
studio...I climbed up there & just painted away...that was
fun... |
